Richard A. Ferrari has served as a Partner with Ernst & Young for over 18 years. He is a member of Ernst & Young LLP's Financial Services Office, Indirect Tax Practice, consisting of 400 tax professionals with specific oversight of the New York Indirect Tax team also supporting EY's Americas Employment Tax practice consisting of over 50 tax professionals. He provides services relating to indirect tax including but not limited to federal and multi-state employment tax matters.

Richie has over 27 years of indirect tax experience, working closely with numerous global corporations within the financial services sector: banking capital markets, insurance, and wealth and asset management. He has assisted clients in achieving indirect tax recoveries and benefits through the identification, design and implementation of executive-level tax planning elections as well as supports clients with the federal and state employment tax aspects associated with income tax withholding, executive compensation, payroll process reviews, payroll governance, merger integrations and corporate reorganizations.

Over the past few years, Richie has been working with various clients to identify, validate, design and deploy new tax operating models to help enhance an organization's overall tax effectiveness and long-term operating goals.

Most recently, Richard has led the Firm on the technical aspects associated with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) supporting our clients to understand the rules and interim rules relating to loan origination and loan forgiveness. Richard has been working to develop PPP content including thought leadership, training sessions and FAQs. Most recently, Richard has been speaking on PPP loan forgiveness for our clients and industry groups.

Richie also oversees our PPP Loan Forgiveness and Virtual Operations Center performing the loan level review for Forms 3508, 3508EZ and 3508S. Specifically, Richie has worked between our client accounts and our Virtual Operations Center to set standards to operationalize our procedures and quality standards for loan level review, quality control and approval. The International Tax Review World Tax Survey of 3,000 Corporations recognized Richie as one of the top ten U.S. East Coast Tax Advisors. Richie lectures across the country on current indirect tax developments for various tax associations, including Wall Street Tax, The Tax Executives Institute and Council on State Taxes (COST).

Richie received a BS from Fordham University and an MBA in Taxation from Pace University. He is a certified public accountant licensed in New York State and is a member of the American Payroll Association and The Institute of Professionals in Taxation. >> RSVP for the event.
