File pull-down menu > user preference > general tab > click the box of 20 minutes delay If you want to make this setting permanent > click the box of save as default Click tab Apply > OK
Then you can get the 20 minutes delayed updated valuation matrix. Left side panel > Price & Earnings icon

Use "Data Scan" to print more than page, e.g. detailed business description
Left side panel > Data Scan icon > choose detailed business description on pop-up menu > after the text has been shown up > right click mouse, you can either choose "print" to have the text content printed out or choose "copy" and then paste the text content in other documents.

Start Excel, open the file "SV Connect" on desktop, locate cell "C3" > StockVal pull-down Menu > choose "Retrieve Ticker Symbols" > type the chosen ticker(s) (composites or individual stocks) in the filed > OK > OK > the selected stocks would be shown>locate cell "D3" >StockValpull-down Menu > "Select Data Items" > choose items in need in every category > OK > Automap >OK

Refer to "How to use Excel add-in" to reach the "Select Data Items" > the first 7 categories are historical items (the category "Stock Select Data" gives the most recent data only) > choose the items in need and all the items selected will show in the file Selected Date Items >OK> "Map Data Items" > change "frequency" by clicking the cell and choosing the desired frequency on pull-down menu > change "last" (number of periods) by clicking the cell and choosing the desired period on pull-down menu > if "custom" is chosen, start date and end data are required to be inputted manually or selected on pull-down calendar > Automap > OK.

Data pull-down menu > Company Profile > look for "SV Industry I"
- 10. How to create a composite (Index)
Composite is a peer group in comparison. In StockVal, some composites are already created; however, composites can be created customarily.
Left Panel, click "Composite" icon > from pop-up menu, click "Create New Composite"> input in the desired name of this composite in the field "Symbol", can not use existing stock ticker to name the new composite; write short description in "Title"; change "weighting" setting (Equal share is commonly used)> Type stock tickers in the "Symbol" column and click "Enter" key > after input all the stocks selected, click "Generate" and save to folder.
- 11. How to retrieve a composite
Left Panel, click "Composite" icon > from pop-up menu, click "Composite Library" >look up the composite by symbol > to view a customized composite, look up the composite under "Custom Composites"; to view a StockVal composite, look up the composite under "StockVal Composites".
- 12. How to create comparative balance sheet
Refer to "How to use Excel add-in". Locate C3. After you click "Retrieve Ticker Symbols" >choose Across the column > then repeat the process in the description of "How to use Excel add-in"
- 13. How to screen stocks on various criteria
Left Panel, click "Stock Select" icon > "create new" > Universe > choose "all stocks in the stockval universe" "S&P 500 stocks" or "stocks within a specific composite or portfolio" (using search function by keywords) > "Data Item"> choose desired items (e.g. dividend yield) > "Screening Criteria" > choose the range on pull-down menus. If Min or Max is not certain, refer to "Screening Statistics" > "View Report"
If you need to go back to change the criteria, right click the mouse to choose "Universe" "Date items" " Screening", and you can also save the screening result as a composite.
You can double click the individual stock to view the information of this selected stock.
